Welcome to the fiction and poetry challenge at yeah write
Right now, I am reading The Magician’s Land, the final book in a series that has not disappointed in its ability to keep me obsessively turning pages. After plowing through the first two books so fast that I think I’ll need to reread them just to fully absorb their awesomeness, waiting for the final book to become available resembled the anticipation one feels when waiting for a long-awaited trip. When I finally had the hefty hardcover in my grasp, I asked myself why I don’t read more fantasy. I love fantasy, as long as it’s done well–and truthfully, it’s a difficult genre to do well. So when I’m writing, I aim to write something I’d like to read. Something I not only enjoy, but something done well.
In an effort to write something you want to read, why not start off with this week’s optional prompt:
Where were you when the earth stopped turning?
This optional prompt is to serve as your inspiration for your fiction or poetry. Use the question, word for word, in your story or poem, or just answer the question. Already have your own story thought up? No problem! The prompt is only there if you need it, and the earth will continue to turn if you choose your own adventure.

That series has been on my to-read list as well.
I’ll have to check out that book series!
Me, too!
Oh, definitely! You’ll love it, Jen!
