Getting ready for NaBloPoMo here at yeah write

Next week will begin our sign up for yeah write’s version of NaBloPoMo, BlogHer’s annual blog every day for the month of November event. Once BlogHer opens its doors, get your name on its list. Then, if you want a more intimate setting for all the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth that go along with posting for 30 days straight, you can add your blog to the special NaBloPoMo grid we’ll be hosting here at yeah write. It’ll be the same thing we did last year, but with a twist: we’ll need 30 blog posts written in this space to keep up with everyone else.

So please plan on joining us both for the NaBlo challenge of posting every day on your own blog for 30 days, and be ready to grab an open spot on the 30 days for guest posting here at yeah write. You don’t need a blog to sign up for one of the 30 days, you’ll write here in this space. Any topic, anything you want as long as it’s not a commercial or commercially sponsored post. Yeah write editors reserve the right to turn down any post we decide could be trolling our community, and this disclaimer probably won’t even apply to any of our readers. Watch this space for the Google spreadsheet online sign up form!

Please consider donating to two charitable causes

Some of the charitable organizations and events yeah write has supported since its first challenge in 2011 at the request of our subscribers include charity water, Equality Now, BP MS 150, and Builders Beyond Borders. Please consider donating to one or each of the causes we’re promoting this month:

Our newest perk package: The 2013 Best American Series

October means the publication of the latest The Best American Series, and for the next several months, our perk package awarded on the challenge grid will include three books from that series: Best American Short Stories, Best American Essays and Best American Non-Required Reading. Some of our editors will throw in their personal favorites, and we will occasionally offer our classic writing bundles featuring Stephen King and Anne Lamott. The perk packages are our way of saying thank you for being so faithful to the cause of promoting the good works of others while practicing the craft of writing for an online audience. There are so many other places you could be each week, and we thank you for sticking with us.

Ready for Tuesday’s challenge?

Your badge is in the sidebar, and we’ll open the 130th challenge grid on Tuesday.

If you need any quick edits to your planned submission, please email us sending your piece as an attachment or in the body of the email. You must be a supporting subscriber to take advantage of this service. Keeping the lights on at yeah write while receiving valuable insights (and a little tough love) for your essay or anecdote is a win-win, so go for it.

Read you Tuesday!
