I’ve missed this place
If you’ve been around yeah write for more than a minute, you know me and maybe noticed I have been gone for the last few months. If you just started hanging out here since May, you likely have no clue who I am. Either way, I’m back!
I missed it here more than you can know. I’ve been super busy getting settled in at my no-longer-new day job and now that I’ve got a handle on things there, it’s time to get back to getting my hands dirty here. What about you? Are you ready to jump into fall and into the yeah write community? I hope you will.
Even during my break I was behind the scenes dreaming and scheming with the rest of the editors to make the fall season at yeah write an amazing one. We’re kicking it off at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend and the fun will keep going from there!
You’ll have to stick around to find out more, but in the meantime, submit a post and then pull up a chair and read the submissions of others. Comment when you can, spread the word about yeah write and take some time to interact with the community. We’re glad you’re here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Who was that masked man?
This optional prompt, which also serves as the ultimate question for the microstory challenge opening Wednesday, is here to serve as your inspiration for your nonfiction submission. Already have your own story thought up? No problem! The prompt is only there if you need it.

How to submit and fully participate in the challenge
Basic yeah write guidelines: 1000 word limit; your entry can be dated no earlier than this past Sunday; nonfiction personal essay, creative opinion piece or mostly true story based on actual events.
1. In the sidebar of this week’s post, please grab the code beneath the nonfiction badge and paste it into the HTML view of your entry
2. Follow the Inlinkz instructions after clicking “add your link” to upload your entry to this week’s challenge grid
3. Your entry should appear immediately on the grid if you don’t receive an error message
4. Please make the rounds to read all the entries in this week’s challenge
5. Consider turning off moderated comments and CAPTCHA on your own blog
This summer, all our grids are unmoderated which means all submissions meeting the basic guidelines will be published Thursday on yeah write. Those entries will be open to a popular vote with the winner celebrated on Friday.
