Yeah write on the road: Long Beach Comic Con

That’s right, community. For the first time ever, yeah write is taking its show on the road! On September 12-13, we will be at Long Beach Comic Con promoting digital storytelling and the wonderfully supportive and challenging community that is yeah write.

What does this mean? Well, for starters, we will have a booth set up at the conference where we will be running a contest with prizes (details to follow). You know how much we love prizes at yeah write. We are also hosting a panel on digital storytelling, where we hope to reach many storytellers excited about this dynamic form of writing.

What it’s all about

So Long Beach Comic Con is tons of fun, as well as interesting. In case you need proof, Michelle and I met there last year, and not only did we have a blast, but we came away from an author’s panel super jazzed to pick up our pens and get to work. Among the stormtroopers and superheroes, elves and zombies, are artists, authors and illustrators together in an energetic celebration of pop culture and comic books. Row after row of artwork, comic books, regular books, collectibles, costumes and inventions line the Expo hall, where we will be sharing our amazing community and hosting our weekend contest. It’s a place to be inspired, to meet fantastic people, and to let the imagination roam free–which are all things yeah writers support 100%.

Contest prizes & more

In addition to our onsite contest and giveaways, this week we are hosting a contest right here, where we will be offering a free pair of tickets to the con. There are two ways to enter: 1) Follow us on Twitter (current followers, just tweet us asking to enter) or 2) Leave a comment on Thursday’s voting post stating your favorite post from this week and why. Do both, and you earn two shots at the prize!

The contest closes Saturday, August 15, at midnight. One random winner will receive two tickets for entry to the con for the weekend–this does not include airfare or hotel. Tickets are transferable, so you’re free to give them away to your great-aunt Josephine if you can’t make it out to Long Beach. But we hope you can.

Ready to party? We’ll see you there.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
