Day 4 NaBloPoMo at yeah write guest blogger: echoshadow

I have few things I truly care about in life, I can ignore most things that people deem important, I have few friends, fewer enemies, ultimately, my life is sort of bland. I write, first and foremost, for entertainment. It has to be fun, it works off any stress I may acquire during the day, but so does a cup of apple juice, and I’m sure I’d prefer the juice.

I love writing. When I first realized I could read, I was addicted. I read so many books my family stopped buying new ones. I read and read for hours, ignoring TV and chores, though that second sounds more like a symptom of childhood laziness than a love of the written word. I read until I ran out of my books and read my mother’s books, I read until I was all but out of words to read. It was only a matter of time before I began to make words of my own in the hopes of one day providing one tenth the entertainment that I received for someone else. With this goal in mind, I took up the pen name Ace the Jester. As I would be the entertainment, I should be the court jester.

I still use this as the category name for any stories I write on my blog. The name echoshadow is a story for another post, but let’s move on to what I hope to accomplish. As I firmly believe fame and eternal life through my works shall not be accomplished, here is the reason I write:

I know my mind works in strange ways and my thoughts aren’t always in real words, they are more vague concepts. The mere act of putting them down in a written format makes them less fluid and more comprehensible. That is why I’m the madman with a pen because, without a pen, I really would be just a madman. Fortunately, I have one.

Hopefully you understand me because, to me, being a writer means being understood.
