lovelinks: call for prizes

I’ve been thinking:

Does this lovelinks contest have to be winner-take-all? It started out with The Bloggess sidebar text ad, which is a great prize, but can’t there be others? There should be others. Everyone who linked up has worked so hard, and I don’t want to send anyone away empty-handed.

So while I have everyone’s attention, I’m asking you to ask your networks for a few donations as random prize drawings for everyone who’s participated since Week 1. If we get some really cool things, I’ll set the coolest of them aside for the Week 4 finalists.

The prizes don’t have to be sensational. An iTunes gift card here, an Etsy item there, whatever the donor would like to share. No used socks unless they are the kind with the toes knitted onto them. Can you guys pass the link to this post along to every single one of the jillion people who voted in yesterday’s Voting Festival? I will publicly acknowledge the donors here at the fringe and I’ll bet the winners will, too. It’s a nice publicity exchange.

Your network lovelies can also donate a few bucks here and there, and I’ll use the funds to purchase subscriptions to premium blog traffic analyzers like Get Clicky, which is what I use, or blog newsletter services such as Mail Chimp. If I have any donated funds leftover, I’ll put them toward the $100 text ad on The Bloggess.

I’ll start the donations: I am donating a premium WordPress theme from Elegant Themes to a random Week 14 lovelinker.

I could offer Comment Luv Premium. Works with WordPress and Blogger (IF you use Intense Debate and I’m not 100% sure how to make that work). Not very exciting but it’s all I could think of?
