[dropcap1]I[/dropcap1] don’t know why I’m obsessed these days with opening up lovelinks voting based on hitting 50 blogs rather than opening it based on the 9 p.m. US eastern time. But I am obsessed and we’re gonna hit 50 one way or the other sooner or later.

The very first week we hit 50, I’ll give away a Turntable Kitchen pairings box. I’mma plagiarize a little from the Turntable Kitchen web site as I tell you what’s in it. I’ve ordered the January box as a gift, and I may keep one for myself eventually, but OBSESSED WITH 50. So I’m giving one away in a random drawing out of the 50 bloggers when we hit 50. If you link up that week (one entry per blogger) and we have 50 entries and I select your lovelinks grid number in a random drawing, you will get in your pairings box:

[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]A limited-edition, hand-numbered 7-inch vinyl single featuring a pair of tracks by one of  Turntable Kitchen’s favorite artists/bands[/stextbox]
[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]An exclusive, downloadable Turntable Kitchen-curated digital mixtape packed with some of the most exciting up-and-coming new artists[/stextbox]
[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]A collection of three completely original, seasonal, themed recipes for you to try. You won’t be able to find them anywhere else[/stextbox]
[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]1-2 premium dried ingredients for you to make 2-4 servings of each dish or drink[/stextbox]
[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]Suggested pairings, tasting notes and additional insights into the music and food included in the pairings box[/stextbox]
[stextbox id=”info” mode=”css” direction=”ltr” shadow=”true”]Bonus treats like edible goodies, artist recipes, special reviews and extra songs could be in the box. Who knows? You gotta link up and win to find out[/stextbox]

How will we get to 50? When will we get to 50? That’s up to you. I’m doing all I can, and sometimes when I email people saying how awesome lovelinks is and how much they would love it, I find myself on the wrong end of restraining orders, so maybe it should come from you directly. Just like when I put out the call for lovelinks virgins. You brought me virgins. I asked for off-topic bloggers, you brought me off-topic bloggers. I asked for testosterone-y writers and got Lance B.

You can make it happen.

Let’s vote.

How voting works

Everybody gets three votes. Depending on your browser, there will be a yellow star above or below each thumbnail. Click on the thumbnail to read the post, click the star to vote. After each click of the yellow star, the page will refresh. You’ll have to make your way back down to the grid, then click another yellow star. After three yellow star clicks, you’re done voting, the yellow stars will disappear, and you’re free to campaign for your favorites.

For whatever reason, lovelinks voting does not work well with mobile browsers, including iPads and tablets. If you need me to register your votes for you, please email me or send a Twitter DM and I’ll take care of it.

GOTV [getting out the vote]

1…

Ask your readers, friends, followers, fans to join you in choosing their three favorite blog posts this week.

2…

Do not vote-bomb us. Those of us with lesser minions or busier grandmothers than yours will appreciate it.

3…

Don’t forget to spread the comment love while you’re reading and voting.

Friday’s winners

  • editor’s choice: Erica M being completely subjective and choosing the one post she likes most
  • lurker’s favorite: Flood G choosing her favorite
  • popular vote winner: grandma coming through for you just in time, right before her Bunco night starts
  • comment karma: not the most comments by a lovelinker, but the overall most thoughtful, witty, wonderful, whatever—I’ll know it when I read it

Lovelinks #39 voting is open. Good reading, everybody…
