The badge for yeah write #148 is over in the sidebar. Copy the code from the box beneath the badge, paste it into the text or HTML view of your post draft window, then the badge should appear in your post once published. If this is your first time here, this page will get you started on your way to the best community on the web for writers who blog and bloggers who write.
Speaking of writers who blog and bloggers who write
We really do try to keep it simple around here, but here’s the conundrum: writing well is hard work. Part of it is talent, most of it is writing and rewriting and editing. It also requires discipline. If it’s not working, you may need to come back to it at another time as opposed to chasing that high of comments and adoration that may come with immediately hitting the “publish” button on your blog. For the weekly writing challenge, you can submit your shitty first draft or your man-if-I-read-this-thing-one-more-time-but-I-think-I-finally-got-it draft, but just remember: it’s a challenge. It may be a friendly competition, but it comes with submission guidelines and a submissions editor. We always want you to bring your best stuff.
Welcome Tipsy Lit editors and writers!
We often have writers on the challenge grid and, especially, over at the speakeasy who are active members of other writing communities. During NaBloPoMo, we discovered Tipsy Lit, a writer’s community run by Ericka Clay that features interviews and writing tips as well as prompted writing challenges. For this week and next, Tipsy Lit, yeah write and the speakeasy will be participating in each other’s challenges. Tipsy Lit will be writing for either the challenge grid or the speakeasy this week and next week, we are asking the yeah write/speakeasy community to hang out with us at Tipsy Lit. If you’d like to compete in the Tipsy Lit prompted fiction challenge the week of February 17, please say yes in comments!
Yeah write #148 opens Tuesday…
Woah. This place looks familiar-ish… I feel very out of the loop. Looks like I have a lot of things to catch up on! I’ve sure missed you guys.
When are you coming home?
I love the picture, especially the dog.
Especially the dog.
Excuse me if it is right in front of my face, but is there a link to update our contact info for yeah write? I thought there was but I can’t seem to locate it. Thanks!
If you need to update your subscriber info, try here. If you want to edit your yeah write contributing writer info, sign into the dashboard with your yeah write WP logon. Let me know if you need anything else!
Have fun this week with your submissions, but remember: edit, edit, edit. Also, check out the guidelines on the site for suggestions on writing a post for yeah write.
Yes! I’m always looking for new fiction prompts 🙂
Yay! Tipsy Lit will be here this week, and we’ll be over there next week. You can hang out both places if you have the creative space!
I’d love to participate in the Tipsy Lit fiction prompt!
Sarah, this week’s prompt is open at Tipsy Lit just for you! Ha. Or, if you like, you can wait until next week when the yeah write crew will be headed over there. Or you can try it both weeks. Let us know 🙂
Thank you for the warm welcome, Erica! We’re excited to dive in!
We’re having fun already! Thanks for hanging out with us!
I’ve been looking for more writing opportunities, getting used to the Speakeasy and now I want to try out at Yeah Write proper. Looking forward to the prompts!
Welcome, Kynna! Just so you’re prepared, yeah write doesn’t write to a prompt. As long as it’s dated no earlier than the Sunday before the grid opens and it’s within 600 words, your non-fiction entry will meet the basic guidelines. Hope to see you Tuesday!
Thank you for the clarification, Erica. Sadly I missed this week because I had no idea how to put the badge into my post, I wrote it in my mobile and it was too latw. But can only get better so I’ll be ready next time for sure.
