It’s the weekend, so the moonshine grid is open
As a teacher, the beginning of the Fall semester is a magical one, full of the smells of crisp autumn leaves, newly bound textbooks, and a feeling of relief as we settle into a new routine.
Just kidding. It’s a ton of work, and every day in my un-airconditioned classroom the temperatures have soared into the 100s. Autumn is the last thing on my mind right now–I’m mostly just working on a way to get through a two hour lecture without my blouse sticking to my back with glue-like sweat.
Yeah write at Long Beach Comic Con
All those concerns aside, we at yeah write are counting down the days until Long Beach Comic Con September 12-13. We’ll be there among the cosplayers and fans doing what we do best–promoting storytelling. We’re hosting a panel on the subject, we’ll be having a contest on site, and of course, in yeah write fashion, there will be prizes. If you’re in the area, we hope you can make it!
Take a breather
This weekend community exists as a balm for those who need some soothing after a week of competition. That’s why we accept any post, with any word count, on any subject, of any genre, from any date. Bring us your poems, your practice essays, your listicles, or old-fashioned blog posts. Just don’t bring us commercial or sponsored posts.
