Weekly Writing Challenges Archive
Welcome to YeahWrite’s archives. Below, you’ll find all of our posts. We kick off each writing week on Friday (what?) with a new prompt for you. For 500 weeks YeahWrite hosted “weekly grids” which enabled writers to link their self-hosted responses, and to read and vote on each others’ work, as well as commenting. Check out our creative nonfiction, fiction|poetry, and microprose archives for a closer look at our nearly ten years of weekly writing competitions. While we no longer host weekly competition grids, we’re still delivering the prompts you love as well as our Super Challenge and classes. We also feature monthly instructional or challenge posts, which you’ll find collected here as well as in our writing help archive!

There's No Better Time On Saturday morning I finally cashed in a gift card for a massage that I received 18 months ago. I'd kept meaning to use it, but I was trying to find the best day to go. I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity for relaxation...

Mindful Practice A couple years ago, out of the blue, my dad sent me a practice chanter set. He'd found it at a thrift store and thought of how many times I'd said I wanted to learn to play the bagpipes when I was a kid, and, well, one thing led to another. It turns...

Do Not Say Cheese My passport expires later this year so today I spontaneously went to get my photos since I was having a good hair day and obviously it's very important to have excellent hair on a photo that only a few strangers per year will even see. The rules have...

Weather... or not While Stacie's trapped by winter storms and power is out for many of my Canadian friends (stay safe and warm out there, y'all, and thanks to the utility folks who are working some kinda crazy double overtime) it's relatively mild - if chilly and...

Out with the old... It's a new year, YeahWriters, and that means new beginnings, new ideas, new perspectives, and new goals. I'm guessing a lot of us have the same goal for 2018: to write more. That's admirable, but also kind of loosey-goosey. Let's get specific. This...
