Weekly Writing Challenges Archive
Welcome to YeahWrite’s archives. Below, you’ll find all of our posts. We kick off each writing week on Friday (what?) with a new prompt for you. For 500 weeks YeahWrite hosted “weekly grids” which enabled writers to link their self-hosted responses, and to read and vote on each others’ work, as well as commenting. Check out our creative nonfiction, fiction|poetry, and microprose archives for a closer look at our nearly ten years of weekly writing competitions. While we no longer host weekly competition grids, we’re still delivering the prompts you love as well as our Super Challenge and classes. We also feature monthly instructional or challenge posts, which you’ll find collected here as well as in our writing help archive!

There goes the sun And I don't miss it one bit. As a person with the spring SADs, this is my joyful season. Everywhere around me is greening up for Second Spring because I live in a flippin desert now I guess, I'm bringing in the last of the harvest from my garden and...

FINALLY I love the photo Arden chose for this week's post. The light slanting through the trees, the hint of frost (or rain, if you're in the Pacific Northwest) in the air, the swooshing sound of the leaves as you wade through them: these are some of the most...

Running hot and cold While the weather's cooling and the leaves are turning in the northern hemisphere, things are hotting up here in the world's south. We're careening into warmer weather with all the decorum and coordination of a toddler taking their first steps --...

On the menu My younger child has been experimenting in the kitchen lately. He's playing around with frozen treats. He loves to try different egg dishes. Lately a lot of his choices are Asian-inspired, and I have to say I'm not complaining. His specialty is condiments:...
