Since I usually schlep coffee drinks in the coffeehouse, I made a checklist to make sure I have everything I need to open this joint up. Let’s see: shaker, strainer, white towels to jauntily hang from my back pocket as I work, muddler, long-handled spoon, and my lucky “Kiss the Bartender” apron. Oh, can’t forget my fancy Joker card martini glasses. Yup, it’s all here. Now all I have to do is avoid thinking about all the fun our Natalie’s having in Bella Italia. You know what the Italians say: “Cocktails and mocktails made with jealousy quickly turn sour.”
Which Italians say that? Well, it’s a very common expression in the southeast near the Alps. You know, in the beautiful Makethingsuppia region. Near Bologna. Yeah.
