Everyone starts at the beginning

This is (somehow) the 5 year anniversary of my first ever editor’s pick at YeahWrite for my post about latte foam which honestly I thought was a silly piece without much merit. As I recall, it didn’t do all that well in the vote, but I valued the editor’s pick even more. We all have learning curves for writing compelling stories, and sometimes I still don’t get it right. And that’s ok. I’m still learning. The YeahWrite community has introduced me to many of my best friends, given me a reason to write, and so much more. If you want the backstory of how I ended up behind the scenes, I’ll get to that at some point. But for now, let’s open an empty document and fill it with words. What’s your story this week? I’m sure you have something to say!

Nonfiction Know-How: Tutorials

How often have you heard “the best way to learn a thing is to teach it?” This month’s Nonfiction Know-How focuses on a specific type of essay – tutorials – and how to show the lessons beneath the lessons to your audience. Get your Nonfiction Know-How right here.
