Day 27 NaBloPoMo at yeah write guest blogger: Goldfish from Team Nano Poblano
Hello there, Internet. My name is Goldfish. I live over at FishOfGold.net. Goldfish is not my real name because my parents aren’t that mean, but that’s what you can call me.
We are almost finished with this write every day insanity and it’s been quite the experience.
Even though I’ve had a blog since 2009, this is my first year doing NaBloPoMo. Usually, I’m too obsessed with NaNoWriMo, which I’ve tried for the past couple of years and have completely failed. I’ve never even made it to the halfway mark. This year, I thought I’d do NaBloPoMo instead. Rarasaur put me on her team Nano Poblano, or as I call it, Team Tiny Pepper. I play shortstop.
At first, I foolishly thought NaBloPoMo might be easier than NaNoWriMo. I tend to post a lot on my blog anyway, but the more I thought about it, the more intimidating I found it to be. The concept of posting every day without fail is terrifying. I never put that kind of pressure on myself. Normally, I try to post every day, and sometimes, I manage it, but if I miss a day here and there, I don’t beat myself up over it.
I became more and more nervous the closer it got to November. I started stockpiling topics like a squirrel just in case I couldn’t think of anything to write. I asked my lovely readers what they’d like to have me talk about. I had a draft full of post ideas and I managed to use a handful of them.
Once I got into the groove of writing every day, it just became natural. It has led me some places I never thought I’d go just for the sake of having something to write about and I’ve written a few posts that are not up to my usual quality standards that I never would have published otherwise, but I have managed to write every day. And I haven’t even written one post that says “I can’t think of anything to write about” repeated over and over.
Writing every day hasn’t been that scary, has it? If you didn’t make it, don’t be too hard on yourself. Even if you didn’t post every day, you probably managed to post more this month than usual, am I right?
I hope we all succeed and that this has been a great month for you. We only have a few more days to go until we can become total slackers again. Phew.
High five and go Team #yeahwrite! See you next year.

The end is in sight, fellow NaBloPoMoers! We’re so glad you chose to spend your 30 day blogging challenge with us at yeah write, and we hope you stick around when December rolls in next week.
Remember to visit your rowmies this week and give them a warm hello. Don’t let this be the end, though—keep up the friendships NaBlo has fostered.
If you’re planning to join yeah write #137 challenge grid, here are some helpful links:
Join us for the weekly challenge or stay here with your NaBlo rowmies. Either way, we’re glad you’re here.
I love this attitude. I agree with Goldfish-I truly hope those people who may have missed a day or two don’t look at this as some kind of failure. Signing up, writing more posts than usual, interacting with others on the grid-those all equal success in my book.
Yes, exactly that. Just the fact that we tried is a major success.
Go team #YeahWrite! Woot! I loved this pep talk– not so much “we can do it!” but “hey, we already did it!”. 🙂 And I agree. Anyone who made an effort this month deserves a round of applause! 🙂
Like you, I mostly post once a day anyway– every 19 hours according to some site I once ran my site through. Still, knowing that I *have* to post has been a lot more stressful.
I’m grateful to the support of YeahWrite and the tiny peppers!
It has been great having rownies and teammates since blogging is usually a solo sport.
Wohoo!! I can feel the relieve from all the way over here 😀
It’s definitely been an experience and as insane as it sounds now…I’m thinking of doing this again next year! 🙂
Me too!
