Because of a voting glitch, lovelinks #6 is still open for voting as lovelinks #7 gets underway.
No worries. We’re going with the flow.
Learning from last week and some other weeks, I’m going to change a few things for this week. I like how I used the word “week” three times in one sentence there. That was kinda cool.
One whole week is way too long for submissions. By the time voting opens (over the monkeycranking weekend, no less), no one can remember what’s going on. Wut? Vote? Wut? Where? Wut? So we’re tightening it up. Submissions open today, close Thursday. Voting opens Thursday, winner declared Saturday.
Another change: before the submission can be lovelinked, there needs to be a link to this post somewhere in the submitted post. Nothing fancy. It can read something like this at the very end of the post:
This post has been lovelinked at lovelinks #7
But, Erica M, what if I’m linking up someone else? They’re not gonna know to have a link to your blog in the post I want to share in lovelinks.
Yeah, they will. ‘cuz you’re gonna tell them:
Hey, bff, you heard of lovelinks? I’m gonna link you up, but first you gotta link to lovelinks in your space. Nothing fancy. Just add it at the end of the post: my bff lovelinked this post at lovelinks #7
These modifications will make it much easier on the regular readers and commenters, and it’ll streamline the voting process. And, I think, it’ll be much better for the original purpose of lovelinks which is to spotlight the smaller blogs which might not otherwise get many visitors.
Because I’m putting you through some extra steps, I’m increasing the vote per person from one to three. Happy reading, linking, commenting, voting!
