We nearly hit our limit of 50 lovelinked blogs this week! If that ever happens, did you know submissions would close, then voting would open immediately instead of the scheduled Wednesday at 9 p.m. U.S. eastern standard time? It would be like the emergency management system up in here as I’d be emailing you and tweeting you to let you know voting opened early. Let’s shoot for that bit of excitement next week, okay?
A shot glass of testosterone
Do you XX chromosome lovelinkers have any XY bloggers you can bring over? Eric at I Can’t Brain is overdosing on estrogen, and it’s not pretty. I think I gave away 13 iTunes songs a few weeks ago when I put out the call for off-genre lovelinks virgins. I’ll open up my iTunes wallet again for those of you who bring Eric some company. You would think if men rule the world, some of them may also write a blog or two. The song of your choice when your XY friend links up.
How voting works
Everybody gets three votes. Depending on your browser, there will be a yellow star above or below each thumbnail. Click on the thumbnail to read the post, click the star to vote. After each click of the yellow star, the page will refresh. You’ll have to make your way back down to the grid, then click another yellow star. After three yellow star clicks, you’re done voting, the yellow stars will disappear, and you’re free to campaign for your favorites.
For whatever reason, lovelinks voting does not work well with mobile browsers, including iPads and tablets. If you need me to register your votes for you, please email me or send a Twitter DM and I’ll take care of it.
GOTV [getting out the vote]
1…
Ask your readers, friends, followers, fans to join you in choosing their three favorite blog posts this week.
2…
Do not vote-bomb us. Those of us with lesser minions or busier grandmothers than yours will appreciate it.
3…
Don’t forget to spread the comment love while you’re reading and voting.
Friday’s winners
- editor’s choice: Erica M being completely subjective and choosing the one post she likes most
- lurker’s favorite: Flood G choosing her favorite
- popular vote winner: grandma coming through for you just in time, right before her Bunco night starts
- comment karma: not the most comments by a lovelinker, but the overall most thoughtful, witty, wonderful, whatever—I’ll know it when I read it
Lovelinks #38 voting is open. Good reading, everybody…
I just realized while working my way through the posts that I was late for voting. Doi.
Great week everyone! Love being a part of this!
I just finished reading through EVERY single one of these posts! I figured that it wouldn’t be fair to vote without reading them all. These writers are amazing and I’m honored to be linked up with them this week.
Thank you!
On Stasha’s topic, sort of, I wanted to vote for 3 different ones but somehow I cast two votes for 1 person.
I am not so good at campaigning for myself – vote bombing is naturally at odds with my personality. I always enjoy reading these posts – it’s where many of my Best of the Blogosphere picks end up coming from!
I’m out canvassing for men.
Not like that.
Pervs.
Yay! Thanks! LOL @ pervs. We knew what you meant.
Cant wait to get my vote on.
Way to go with the link up!
I’m having trouble voting too. I tried from my PlayBook, and I could see the stars, I voted for one, then when it refreshed it still told me I had 3 votes. When I clicked on the other two the same thing kept happening, no votes seemed to be registering. I’m trying now from my desktop computer, and I don’t get any stars to vote 🙁 Maybe the votes really did go through?
I think the linkup has problems with mobile browsers. If your desktop voting doesn’t work, please email me your choices. Thanks!
I confess, I read more blogs by men much earlier on when I started blogging. Then all these women just took over my online life and I barely have enough time for the two males in my life, let alone online. So I can’t think of any male lovelinks virgins I can bring in. Yet. I’ll do my best though!!
Happy voting all! (I read some really good posts this week, picking 3 was hard)
I seem to live perpetually in Chicago under the first Mayor Daley, because my votes don’t seem to register. I mean, I voted 3 times but the screen says I still have 3 votes left. Is it me? Have you subtly barred me from voting? Or am I going to be able to rig the machine and vote eighty gazillion times for my faves? And I’d echo Stasha–THREE votes? Among all this good writing? OUCH. Further, what about being able to vote for you, for lord’s sake, seeing as how you do this kitten-herding every week?
I got your choices by email and took care of them, Mayor Daley.
I think I know a few dudes I can ask to join in next week.
YAY!!
I am putting together a petition to increase number of votes per person. My staff has contacted The White House as I type this. Maybe not per person, just VIP treatment for me. I am having the hardest time choosing my top three and frankly the ratio 34:3 is out of balance as well. Also a little part of me wants to give at least nine votes to my favorite writer.
To top it all, stars disappeared after I cast my first vote. So I will go and fix myself a pint of ice cream, sulk a bit and try again.
Great posts this week!!!!
Can you send me your other two votes so I can register them for you? Were you on your iPad?
Awesome, 34! 50 here you come! Such a great thing!
Me again… I think I just like signing LV… but really 34 Link ups!!!! YEAH! Go Erica!!!! -LV (but you already knew that)
LV, no way we would get to 34 without all the enthusiastic lovelinkers tweeting and posting their love for lovelinks. It’s awesome. Let’s hit 50 before the end of January!
MWAH!! Happy Wednesday Night!!! -LV
O, great…no vote-bombing. I haven’t a snowball’s chance in Hades at winning anything then 🙁 That was pretty much all I had going for me.
Good Luck to all the Linkers!!!!
You can campaign with restraint, XL 🙂
Really? Okay…I will try to act with restraint 😛 Just don’t give me any Dr Pepper! LOL
hahaha!
a vote bomb for me = about 6 votes, if I’m lucky.
You’re in the lead so far. Without vote-bombing. You’re an excellent writer, and your lead is well-deserved.
Erica, I love you.
PS: I love-love-love your new winner’s badges. Where do you find the time?? Seriously in awe here…
