So how did all of your November challenges go? Novel written? Mustache bushed? Blog burned to the ground?
Now that NaNoWriMo, Movember and NaBloPoMo are over, what are you gonna do with all that extra time? Don’t say lovelinks voting cuz I’ll know you’re making stuff up. You’ll probably be holiday shopping, and I’m okay with that. The more you buy, the better the global economy, then everybody is more secure in their finances and happier than before, then you’ll spend more time reading and voting on lovelinks.
I’m busy gathering digital prizes for January’s month of lovelinks, but maybe don’t skip December lovelinks while you’re reviving the global economy: I’ll have prizes set aside for those of you who’ve linked up at least 10 times since lovelinks began. Or 15 times. Or 20. December will be your friend mainly due to the open bar at holiday parties, but lovelinks will be here for you, too.
Collected prizes so far:
- full-on awesome blog consult: content, design, readability, SEO
- brand spanking new blog header, any platform
- one year of hosting on Blue Host for a lovelinker willing to give Blogger the middle finger and switch to WordPress
And that’s the response after only a few very nice emails. Generous donors loves them some lovelinks. They can remember getting started with a blog having no idea what to do next, and now they can give back to those who need the help. Remember us when you hit the big time, okay?
How lovelinks voting works:
Everyone gets three votes. Depending on your browser, there will be a yellow star either above or below each thumbnail. Clicking on the star registers your vote, clicking on the thumbnail takes you to the lovelinked post. The page refreshes after each vote and after you’ve clicked three yellow stars, you’re done voting.
Feel free to campaign for votes, but please resist the temptation to vote-bomb us. Ask your people to read and vote for three favorites, giving them the wonderful opportunity to discover new bloggers and online communities. They’re already clicking through from Twitter or Facebook: what else are they doing? They have the time and might as well spend it with us.
Finish your homework
You read all the entries? Comment on the ones you liked? Just because you were busy WriMoing, growing ‘staches and BloPoing doesn’t mean you can slack on lovelinks. You know who you are. Not only is it not nice to link and run, that’s not how it works. You have until midnight tomorrow to make up for your egregious error-filled ways. RT somebody and make it all better.
Winners announced Friday: popular vote, editor’s choice, lurker’s favorite. Happy December, y’all.
bush a moustache just sounds nasty. and the visual is…eeww. All I can say is that January is my birthday. I will be inching ever closer to FIFTY, dammit. And will need lots of love. For some reason the last two lovelinks have seen me post-less, as it were; but I promise to do better. I’m kind of in awe of you nablopomers, frankly. I’ve done it twice & the second time damn near killed me. Bravo!
Haven’t you people ever heard of a bushy mustache?
I did not use the NaNoWriMo time to finish my novel. I am trying to figure out why and I think it’s that I dislike having to write the awkward “NaNoWriMo” Soooooo much – who thought that one up?!
Nor did I bush my mustache.
Whatever that means. (-:
