For the first 22 lovelinks, the popular vote determined the winner. Then I decided the less socially mobilized deserved recognition for good works, and the editor’s choice appeared. As the posts got better and better, it became harder for me to choose just one, so I put out the call for a lurker to out herself with a favorite. My friend @FloodG came through for us.

This week starts the tradition of three lovelinks winners, which averages to the top 10 percent: popular vote-getter, editor’s choice and lurker’s fave.

Here they are:

Ado at The Momalog won the popular vote with a guest post by her friend Megan who wrote about her son Hayden’s struggle with a rare genetic disorder. Hayden’s parents are fierce advocates for their son’s well being and a fundraising force as they raise awareness about the disease. Thanks, Ado, for introducing Hayden to lovelinks. Maybe his mom will let him write your next guest post about the awesomeness that is sixth grade.

Kir at The Kir Corner won editor’s choice for her post comparing her habit of leaving thoughtful comments on her favorite friends’ blog posts to leaving them cupcakes. I liked it because it was such a straight line to the heart of lovelinks: we’ve carefully and thoughtfully built our welcoming blog community not from gimmicks and empty promises, but from truly genuine blogside visits and comment chats. Thanks, Kir, for being part of it.

Brandy at Momwich won Flood’s lurker’s fave with an honest admission of her nagging resentment of her husband’s alcoholism and recovery. We don’t get to psychoanalyze our lurkers—there is freedom in relative anonymity—so, I don’t know why Flood selected Brandy’s post, but I can tell you that I was nodding empathetically while I was reading it. Thanks, Brandy, for sharing it with us.

Bonus: best use of a photograph: Mama in the City.

Congrats to our winners! If you’d like a super cool winner’s button badge for your blog, please email me and I’ll send it right away.

Thanks to everyone who linked up this week. We all would love to be voted #1, but as a perennial 2nd placer, let me say: most of the fun is playing along. Please come back next week. Bring friends.

The blogs are sorted in order of most votes to least votes in the matrix below. In the case of a tie, like if four blogs each got seven votes, the tied blogs are sorted by highest number of page views received.

Lovelinks #31 opens Tuesday.
