Ehren is home. New car is in the driveway. I’m getting my derailed writing assignment back on track.
The lovelinks promotion with Jenny at The Bloggess is scheduled to start next week, but I think Jenny is part of the Texas wildfires evacuation. Is it terrible of me to hope she has her laptop with her and wi-fi available so she’ll get my emailed hyperlinks in time for the contest?
Q says he read some sort of article that claims vodka slows down metabolism which could be more of an explanation of my weight gain than the perimenopause or my depression study drug. To that I say: dontchu be talkin’ bad about my vodka. It’s my friend who would never wish me any harm, much less these extra 35 pounds. Getting older and being half-crazy are the true enemies here. Isn’t that right, sugary empty-calories drinky poo sweetums?
Lovelinks #22 is open for submissions. voting.
Haha!! Your expression of love for your beloved vodka made me laugh!
It’s also a happy time for me when my liquor guy calls me by name 🙂
Oh… Erica. Everyone knows that vodka is how Russians live the longest. They slow down their metabolism and preserve themselves like cordial cherries. 🙂
So remember when I told you I was back to writing for the summer for sure? Yeah…. that didn’t happen. I haven’t written a blog since June, my writing habit’s gone down the toilet and I’ve been so high on design mode lately that I haven’t even had the motivation. (Sounds like my depression set up camp in the writing center of my brain.) I’m trying to start posting, but I am definitely back to read and vote, if nothing else.
I missed your humor.
Carina, thanks so much for looking for me in the midst of your own chaos! I’ve missed you, too. You’ll have plenty of new blogs to read and comment on in the upcoming few weeks, and I’m so glad you’re joining us. Those Russians are a beefy lot, eh?
Haha. Not mine. My husband recently found out that he is of Russian heritage and he LOVES his vodka. We drink white russians together. But he’s no beef cake. I guess it helps that he runs between 3 and 10 miles every morning. Still, it must be the vodka that helps him keep it off, right? 😀

I just want to say – Q heard wrong. Vodka BURNS calories.
Exactly. Stupid biased science.
