Well, the job interview went fine yesterday. Thanks, everybody, for your encouragement.

I’m now in the waiting stage, but I do know this: it’s a project assignment that has a scheduled end, and that’s okay. It’ll be more experience and additional collateral for my portfolio, and the team members seem genuinely nice. Hold on to your hats—I’ll have more news later.

[UPDATE] I was offered the project assignment. It’s scheduled until the end of November with the possibility of an extension if I prove myself awesome. The baby will have to stay in north Texas as I get adjusted to a new work schedule. We’ll Face Time each other from my office and his daycare playground.

Lovelinks opens today. Please spread the word and link up your own best post of the past week.

Meanwhile, I’ll be scouring the Internet for what to do when one sibling has the birthday blues when it seems as though her younger brother is getting all the attention and all the loot this week, even though for her birthday exactly six months ago, she was getting some good attention and quite a bit of loot. Her sadness is pervasive, and I think it goes beyond birthday blues, so Q and I are doing what we do best as parents: we are buying her new shoes. What girl can’t be cheered up by a package from her biggest fans, especially when the package bears the Nike swoosh?

[UPDATE] Project Cheer Up was a success. Jordan is waiting by the UPS portion of our front porch for her package, and I also swapped out her 8 GB iPhone for a 32 GB iPhone. Mommy and Q understand retail psychotherapy more than anyone else on this Earth.
