I honestly think my extended family produces the most boring Thanksgiving Day get-together in the history of boring Thanksgiving Day get-togethers, but it’s family and we’re together, so I’m not complaining. I’ve got a long week ahead of me, trying to get ready for it and trying to get excited about it, and with everything on my plate, it only makes sense that I’m taking time out to blog.
This week’s Monday Listicle topic from Stasha at Northwest Mommy is courtesy of Jen: do you want children or more children and why or why not. That can be answered without a list: wishfully yes, practically no, I’m 43 years old and the anti-Michelle Duggar.
So my list today will be off-topic:
- lovelinks has its own domain now! Find it at lovelinkin.com and please change your bookmarks.
- I got the name from Deborah at MannaHatta Mamma when she tweeted that she was going lovelinkin. You know how you get your best ideas in the shower or on the potty? Good thing I was reading my tweet stream, uh, in the shower. I registered it immediately.
- My husband Q laughed at the name then fussed at me for spending money on it. But isn’t it pretty? Lovelinkin. It’s just reeking of feminine beauty.
- Bonus points to the first person who can tell me in comments what movie that feminine beauty line is from without using the Google. Hint: it’s in Eddie Murphy’s filmography.
- Ah, but let me be clear: lovelinks isn’t just for the ladies. That’s just a movie line that popped into my head while I was writing. Lovelinks loves the Y chromosome. If you know anybody with one, have him link up.
- I’m thinking of starting a points system for lovelinks that will carry over from week to week earning fun little prizes or charitable donations. Stay tuned. I’ll know more after my next, um, shower.
- I spent the last few days redesigning lovelinks and my personal blog free fringes. Now that lovelinks has its own domain, the separation from my personal blog is complete. My unfocused ramblings are way over there, my organized community posts are way over here. It’s better for everyone involved.
- Trivia: did you know that when I first got the idea for lovelinks, it was Jacqui at ChickTuition who encouraged me to go for it? If it weren’t for her, many of you who’ve found your community through lovelinks would still be floating aimlessly in the blogosphere. And, I guess, so would I. Stop by her blog today to say thanks.
- I cried when I found out Matt Leinart is now my hometown NFL Houston Texans’ starting quarterback in place of Matt Schaub who is out for the season with an injured foot. Oh, wait, I’m doing it, aren’t I? Losing post focus? This probably belongs in the free fringes rambles.
- Headed over there for Day 21 of NaBloPoMo. You can come, too, if you want.
Lovelinks #32 opens tomorrow.
Lovin the new Lovelinkin look. (Say that 10 times fast!) Sorry to have been missing in action last week. You can read all about why, should you dare, in my Monday Listicles post. Life, you know. It can get in the way of my ‘time well wasted’ plans.
Anywho, congrats on the new name and the success of lovelinks!
It looks very eco over here. Lovelinkin sounds cute! You should write a post on the history of lovelinks – that’s blog fodder for you (like you need any).
Your new design is so pretty!!
Your husband sounds like my husband…as IF I would spend money on my blog…ahem. 😉
@runnermomjen As if! LOL thanks!
The movie quote is Shrek! Donkey says it to Dragon! Yes, I have children and we love the Shrek movies.
Love “Lovelinkin”!
@jhall345 Do you guys know every single word like we do? It’s a skill worthy of a job resume. Thanks for lovelinkin compliment!
Love the name – and the new design! I’m excited to join in the community here – even though I don’t know that I’ll write something lovelinkin worthy every week 🙂 I’ll enjoy reading through and voting either way.
@euregirlsandboys @euregirlsandboy You’ll be fine linking every week. It’s more about the community than anything else.
@euregirlsandboys Oh, and thanks for the compliments!
Lovelinkin is the bomb. It serves the community and was born on twitter through the love and good community advice. OK, maybe I was not born to copy write but I LOVE the new side, name, look and this list. The end.
@NorthWestMommy Thanks for the love, Stasha!
