When Alisa isn’t writing, she’s raising three boys with one hell of an awesome husband.
“They are joy and happiness. They light up my day and my life. Even when I want to beat the crap out of them, they are the best. He is the best dad ever, a total family man; and really just a solid, good guy who I have known and loved since we met 100 years ago at a bungalow colony in the Catskills.”
If she finds a second away from them, you can find her reading and exercising.
“I read, a lot. Is that a hobby? And I exercise, whether it’s running, spinning, taking a class that kicks my ass, I’m in. Because of course, my other hobby is eating ice cream while watching the Real Housewives.”
Alisa first realized she had a strong attachment to ice cream when she was just a kid. Her father would pick her up. They’d go see a movie, then go to an arcade and get Häagen-Dazs.
“It was routine and it was special, and of course delicious. I never looked back.”
Dangit, Alisa. Now I’m craving ice cream at 8:00 in the morning.
Alisa’s voice could not be described in 140 characters or less. She wears many hats and all of them well. She is the Ice Scream Mama. Don’t ask her to share.
About Alisa, the Ice Scream Mama:
I always carry sprinkles and cones in my car. I don’t wear make-up ever. I have 4 unpublished manuscripts under my bed. Often I drink my coffee while I’m sucking on a butterscotch or cinnamon candy. I was raised in Brooklyn. I’m a total homebody. I love baking cupcakes for the kids. I love staying home and writing. I love to sweat. I love watching my boys playing sports. I love my coffee. And a book that carries me to another place. I love laughing with friends over sushi. And a massage that makes me melt into the table. I love a snarky comeback. And of course a double scoop with sprinkles. Every day. Sometimes twice a day. And I’m not sharing.

Glad for a snapshot into Alisa’s life! She has helped me develop the ability to eat ice cream without feeling guilty about it, for which I am forever grateful.
