Unmoderated holiday week

As a holiday present to our editors, especially the submissions editor, we are celebrating with an unmoderated grid. Posts must still abide by basic yeah write guidelines, which means they must be first published no earlier than the Sunday before the grid opens, cannot link to other challenges, and must stick to the word count of 500 words plus 100 words grace. Have an extra slice of pie and get writing those fantastic stories and finely crafted poems.

Why are your boots off?

This optional prompt is to serve as your inspiration for your fiction or poetry. Use the question word for word in your story or poem, or just answer it in your writing. Take the prompt in an unusual direction. After all, your boots could be off because aliens are tickling your toes with a feather. Already have your own story thought up? No problem! The prompt is only there if you want it.

We interrupt this fall writing contest…

The writing contest is on hold for the Thanksgiving holiday this week, but the November writing contest will resume for it’s final leg of the competition next week. If you want to know how the competition is going, you can check out  all the semi-finalists here.

Is this your first time here? Check out Sunday’s post which kicked off the week here at yeah write. If you don’t think you can remember to check back every Sunday, you can sign up for our email blasts directly to your inbox.

Have questions you can’t find the answer to by poking around the site? Email us or find us on Facebook and Twitter and we’ll happily help you out.

The fiction|poetry challenge is open for submissions!
