It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for…

It’s time to announce the winners of the yeah write super challenge.  Our judges all agreed: so many of the stories in this round were incredibly high quality and it was so hard to choose between them. Often just a couple points separated two stories.

We were so lucky to have Claire on board for this round, and thanks again to Sam for judging in the preliminary rounds! Getting a published author’s eyes on your work is no joke, folks, and we hope that you’re finding your feedback honest and useful. Remember, there’s no story ever written that couldn’t have something else tweaked, some little improvement made here or there, and just because you have some “work on this” feedback? That doesn’t mean that your story wasn’t fantastic.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and that if you’re not a regular here you’ll stick around for our main challenge grids, both nonfiction and fiction|poetry!

Imagine a really big drumroll here, please.

Winners’ Circle

First Place – $225

Paige Vest – Fool’s Gold

Second Place – $150

Jaimie Smith-Windsor – La Muerte

Third Place – $75

Amy Palen – Unearthed

Congratulations again on making it to the final round to:

Michael Atkinson
Meryn Beattie
Donna-Louise Bishop
Danielle Dayney
Patricia Tuthill
Karen Vernon
Lani Watt

You’re all fantastic writers, and making it this far is something to be proud of.

The super challenge is over… but it’s not. We’re looking into the best ways to get your feedback on the challenge so that we can keep making it better. Stay tuned for our nonfiction superchallenge, with registration opening early next year!

Winners, keep an eye on your email: we’ll be checking in to confirm details and get your prizes to you.

In the meantime, take advantage of our regular grids and coffeehouse to keep getting feedback and meeting readers and writers, or hook up your final essay here:
