Open grid returns Tuesday
Well, you’ve beaten us into submission. Haha. No, just kidding. You guys are great. But, it is time. Moderated submissions are no more and the open grid will return to yeah write on Tuesday. For now, the challenge grid will be open to an unlimited number of blogs, so even if the number of submission attempts grows to pre-moderated levels, you won’t have to wait up until midnight U.S. eastern time to grab a spot. For those of you who’ve been around long enough to remember that madness, we thank you for being so faithful to the yeah write community.
Know someone who would love our humble little community?
You feel like crafting an email to a few key friends? Especially those you’d love to see from week to week on the grid? Our community grows mainly by word of mouth and certainly by personal endorsements. We try to make a first-time visit as self-explanatory as possible, but sometimes newcomers need a friend close by explaining how things work. If you have the time this week, please invite a few blogging writers who would be a good fit for us. Ignore any replies that say: OMG, no, I hate that Erica M. They won’t come back no matter how hard you ask.
Submission guidelines and FAQ still apply
Your yeah write editors may no longer be moderating, but we will be monitoring. Any self-promotional or commercial posts will be removed without warning or notification. Please keep your word limit to a courteous 1,000 words. Never ever forget your “so what.” Check the sidebar under “quick links” for all you need to know, including the editors’ email address.
Monthly prizes for crowd favorite, jury prize and random drawing
Any suggestions? We’d love to award subscriptions to literary magazines (for offline reading) or goods and services offered by small businesses. If you have suggestions for partnerships, please send them our way. We are operating not from corporate budgets, but household ones, so be gentle.
Speakeasy already offering a weekly $25 Amazon gift card for the next four weeks
Yeah write fiction and poetry submissions are accepted over at the speakeasy. Each week, if there are at least 10 submissions, the writers on the grid will qualify to win a $25 Amazon gift card. If you’re on the speakeasy grid waiting to win $25 for your Amazon wishlist and there are only three people on there with you? Time to email some fiction writing friends.
Grab your badges
Badges for both the challenge grid and the speakeasy are now available in the sidebar, right underneath the “be the first to know” yeah write email blast subscription box. They contain the codes needed to satisfy the backlink requirement of the Inlinkz app.
Yeah write #91 weekly writing challenge opens Tuesday with a twist. Open grid, open vote, open everything. Bring your best stuff and a few awesome virgins…

I would be happy to offer one of my hand-made dolls as a prize. Anyone else?
Those dolls are GORGEOUS!
I’m oh-so-nervous about the open grid. Fair warning: If you want your link tweeted with your Twitter handle, make sure I can find easily! Have your Twitter at the top of your web page and use it under your thumbnail. If you won’t care, no worries. 🙂
I am kind of missing the so what. I am pretending it’s still there. I love how you guys keep rolling with the times and remaining flexible. It’s not my strong suit. So I am still sweating over an imaginary so what? Happy New Year.
I love a twist. (Almost as much as a “so what.”)
