I made this in Photoshop while trying out my 800th new template

It’s been a very busy month with Christmahanukwanzaakah barreling toward me at a speed I cannot stop. Shopping with the kids, shopping for the kids. Well, panicking while my husband Q shops for the kids—he’s much better at making three children very happy on a $5 budget. That 26″ HDTV he found one year for $3.19 still astounds.

My blog broke, y’all.

And this time, for the first time, it wasn’t directly my fault. My WordPress upgrades are usually casual affairs with some chamber music and a little brie, but 3.3 knocked me offline for a few sporadic hours. It was a midnight river of tears, but I’m back, thanks to, of all things, Disqus. The default WP comments stopped working, my Comments Plus plugin started working worse, Livefyre was all like what who what’s a comment? Then everything blew up and the blog just broke. I tried template after template, modifying all weekend in between holiday activities, and right when I was gonna give up and take lovelinks back to my personal blog, it occurred to me to try Disqus, a comment system I have never ever liked. I take it all back. Installed, it worked perfectly on the first try. I love you, Disqus. I kiss you on the mouth.

So lovelinks is back.

Ready to bring your blog to a wider audience just in time for the winter months when people are spending more time inside huddled around the Interwebs for warmth. You can link up on Tuesday as usual, right after you finish your online shopping. There’s still time to send Christmahanukwanzaakah cards, so no using the old “I ran out of time” excuse. Tiny Prints, one of our lovely lovelinks sponsors, is offering free express shipping if you order today. The cards will arrive by Christmas Eve, and your grandmother’s new boyfriend will have no idea you almost forgot about him. Do it for Grandma.

Now with more baby geez

Last night, my two-year-old thought we were driving him around our neighborhood to see the Christmas lights and to look for Santa when we were actually driving around to put that little Tasmanian devil to sleep. The last thing he remembered as he fell asleep was a Yo Gabba Gabba nativity scene with “baby geez” sleeping in an inflatable sleigh, and the writing of this post as he snores beside me is the first real break I’ve had in weeks. I can see us looking for Santa on into April.

Lovelinks #36 opens Tuesday.
