Please stand by; your editors are voting
The grid is closed to new submissions, but there is always time to read new-to-you blogs and become part of our community while you wait for editors’ votes to start showing up beneath each thumbnail.
We are scoring each entry based on a standard spreadsheet. As the editors email me their scores, I will add them as “votes” beneath the thumbnails. It’ll say “votes” but please translate that as “scores”. As we bate our breath, the thumbnails will be sorted in order of most page views to least so far. As the tallies change, so will the grid order.
You wanna vote this week? You’ve got four hours
Grab a copy of the scoring spreadsheet, fill it out and email Erica M your completed version by 8 p.m. US eastern tonight. Talk about your short notice, eh? I just came up with the idea an hour ago. If you can’t do it justice this time around, hold onto the spreadsheet for next week’s yeah write #77.

- You don’t have to be on the grid this week to vote with your spreadsheet. This is a great way to practice becoming a more critical reader. Go for it
- Your completed spreadsheet may or may not be shared with the regular yeah write editors, but it definitely will not be shared with anyone else, so your votes will remain anonymous
- Fill it out completely, notes included. If there are missing fields such as scores for a particular blog (including your own), I won’t be able to use it
- I’ll add your scores to the the thumbnail tallies

Comment karma
We are not comment grubbers, far from it. Yeah write has always valued quality over quantity. However, encouraging everyone to lay hands on each entry works as a reward for those who worked so hard to get published on the grid in the first place. That “your yeah write submission” email from Flood is no fun, but it is very helpful, and we admire those who rework their entries based on her suggestions or just plain old start over. Leaving a comment recognizes the hard work everyone put in to get here.
Leave a comment on all of the entries this week, and you’ll earn comment karma. I made you a winners’ badge. You know you want it.
There’s always time to keep reading
Have fun reading and commenting as you wait for the winners’ post. Share yeah write with your friends. We’re still trying to get back to 50 published submissions on the grid so we can kick off a four-week challenge for a $100 Amazon gift card. We won’t get there until you start proselytizing about our awesomeness.
Winners’ post with each editor’s choice plus a jury prize winner to be published Friday at midnight US eastern time.

love the idea, and i think i’ve read all the posts, but doing anything more is just too much for me tonight. i’m blogger idol’d out! ends at midnight. maybe next week after my elimination. 😉
I love the option to vote!! Unfortunately I won’t be able to participate this time, I just don’t have the time between work and volunteering at the shelter tonight.
I did however comment (and LOVE!!) every challenge post this week! At least I think I got ’em all.
Awesome week team!
I really do love this idea. I’m going to pass on participating this week because of a time crunch but I will try to do so next week. I think that it adds some weight to the votes – it’s not just about picking your favorites anymore based on what grabbed you that week. I love the promotion of critical thinking.
Ugh, I’m drafting a trust for a client that just won’t wait. The wondrous world of trusts & estates law. Would love to put in some time with the spreadsheet, but will have to hold on to it for next week. Cool idea though 🙂
Gah! Gotta feed the kids and dubbing in a ballet class before voting ends. I have read and commented on all posts on both grids this week. Will read with a spreadsheet next week just in case…
Subbing in a ballet class. Apparently Kindle doesn’t recognize the word subbing. Who knew??
Very tricky! I read them all and could give you my fav 3 but scoring in 4 hours? Life will definitely get in the way. Plus need advice on how can we really score ourselves. I always try my best to have all the points but clearly don’t understand what I’m missing!
So really? Voting is permanently back as long as it’s spreadsheet-based?
Remember “grade your own paper” from high school when your teacher was having a bad day? That. Except it always taught us to be self-critical, so this will be the same.
This is an experiment. I am promising nothing 🙂
You can do it, Stacie!
Ah, the pressure! I can at least read them with that in mind 😉
And @Erica, silly me, of course nothing is a constant!
