It’s been a quiet week on the grid, so this is one of those weeks, every now and then, we can appreciate that and really delve into all the entries without feeling frantic about the reading load. This week brought out 21 bloggers with their best stuff and a tight race in the top row five. Let’s get to the winners.

Crowd favorite

“How to Screw Up Christmas on a Magnificent Scale” by ML at I Miss You When I Blink

Typically in my little blurb here about our winners I write some pithy words about the excellence of the crowd favorite. And ML’s winning piece, “How to Screw Up Christmas on a Magnificent Scale,” is excellent. But I don’t want to spoil the fun by deconstructing it here. Suffice it to say, she is the most horrible person in all of holiday history and you definitely want to keep her away from your children if you are a fan of wonder. Click through for the punch line. Congratulations, ML! Your crowd favorite badge awaits you in the sidebar.

Congrats also to the rest of our top row five: Gwen, Bill, Samantha, and Madeline! Go grab your well-earned top row five badge in the sidebar.

Weekend moonshine grid opens today at 6 p.m. eastern time!

It’s the weekend, and yeah write guest editor Natalie D is setting up her moonshine grid and bathtub gin just for you. It’s a no pressure grid where we accept anything except commercial or sponsored posts. Catch up with Natalie starting at 6 p.m. eastern time today. Closing time is midnight on Monday.

Win-win

The thumbnails are now sorted in the grid from most votes to the least. In the case of a tie, the thumbnails are additionally sorted by page views.

Do not be discouraged if your blog has landed near the bottom of the grid; especially if it was a tight race. The fun lies in getting better exposure for your blog and, in the spirit of competition, an incentive to improve your writing and blogging skills. It’s a win-win for everybody involved.

Thanks again, everybody, for submitting, for reading, and for accepting the weekly writing challenge. And for making yeah write the most welcoming spot on the Interwebs for writers who blog and bloggers who write.

Don’t leave yet…

Remember to congratulate all the winners in the comments and let the writers you voted for know that their work meant something to you this week. Link up for yeah write 139 next week and tell us an awesome nonfiction story in about 500 words. We love those.
