It’s the weekend, so the moonshine grid is open

It’s been a busy week. Take off your shoes, loosen that belt buckle, and relax. We have some home brewed moonshine ready to go. Maybe just some root beer for the non-drinkers like me. Everybody needs a place to unwind, to just write and not think too much. That’s why we’re here. To visit and share in this community.

What the moonshine’s about

Challenges. Word counts. Prompts. Winners. Not here. The moonshine grid is a break from trying so hard. We’re not so big on rules here. You can link up old posts, posts with any word count, posts on any subject. Remember that time the dog ate all your dress shirts? We want to hear that story. Link it up here. Only no commercial or sponsored posts, we’re just being our real selves.

How to be a better writer + prizes

If your challenge grid submission was returned with a love letter, then we have a gift for you, courtesy of ML Philpott from I Miss You When I BlinkIf you incorporate the suggested revisions from submissions editor Obed’s love letter, then resubmit your post here at the moonshine grid, you will be entered into a drawing for a coffee mug featuring ML’s random penguins. Accepting criticism and rewriting is essential to the writing process, and is the best tried-and-true way to develop your skills, so take advantage!

Shipping available only to winner with US or Canada mailing address.

Tipsy Lit writing swap

Several yeah write editors (including yours truly) and writers are over visiting Tipsy Lit this week. Their Monday prompt inspired some amazing fiction, and today they link to their stories in comments of this post. Go on by and give a visit! Read all the posts, then return on Saturday to vote for your favorite. On Sunday, they publish the winning story in its entirety. Let’s all show our support, yeah writers!

This is the badge you are looking for.

Over in the right sidebar is a list of yeah write badges containing the codes you need to satisfy the backlink requirement (also called a permalink) of the Inlinkz app. The badge for the moonshine looks like this:

moonshine

Under the badge is a few lines of code. Copy that exactly then paste it into the “text” or HTML view of your post editor. If you don’t copy it exactly, you will get an error message from the Inlinkz app. If you get confused or your browser is uncooperative, visit the Inlinkz step-by-step instructions here. If all else fails, contact Inlinkz customer support.
