We’re fast approaching what I lovingly refer to as The Perfect Storm. The Perfect Storm is when my birthday, my husband’s birthday, Christmas and New Year’s all fall within eight days of each other. Eight. Days.

The Perfect Storm requires feats of superhuman preparedness from a person not known for her planning skills. It also entails a lot of money all spent at once, ensuring that I feel the pangs of an empty bank account for the first two months of the new year. To top it off, this year I’m throwing my husband a birthday shindig because I’m a masochist it’s his 30th. So if you don’t hear from me after December 31st this year, it’s because I have been destroyed by The Perfect Storm.
