It’s time to vote for your three favorites.
We’re back to normal. Meaning the votes will not be visible throughout the voting day and, after the final votes are tallied, the thumbnail grid will sort in order of most votes to least, but the number of votes will be hidden from view.
It’s less soul-crushing that way. Take it from a fellow insecure writer who cried for 20 minutes over two unsubscribes from my brand new Mail Chimp subscriber list, I know how hard it was to watch those vote tallies throughout The Bloggess contest. If your blog got six votes and others got 650? That’s hard to digest. I needed the votes to be public so everyone would know I wasn’t rigging the votes behind the scenes. Sorry about that.
However, I’ve noticed the bar has been raised on lovelinks writing and blog design since the start of that month-long ego crusher. People moving off Blogger onto more flexible platforms. The writing of the posts blowing me away. I’m totally taking credit for half of all that and giving the other half credit to the natural spirit of competition.
For our newbies and lovelinks virgins: there should be a yellow star beneath each lovelinks entry. If you’re on a mobile browser, the star could be above the entry. Click the star and the page will refresh. Click another star. The page will refresh. Click the third star and you’ll be done for the day. Use the rest of your free time to teach your grandma how to log onto lovelinks and click on your yellow star or that of your favorites.
Voting is open for 24 hours beginning at midnight eastern daylight time [-4 GMT] on Thursday and ending Friday at midnight eastern daylight time. I’ll write up the winner in a Pulitzer-worthy post and an NAACP Image Award-worthy tweet. If you don’t already follow me on Twitter, please follow me on Twitter. it’s me, the problem child in the back saying WHAAA??? So I’m trying to vote; I click on the stars, the page refreshes, and…I still have the same number of votes left. Which means my votes aren’t counting and dang, I’m not even voting for myself!! Help? Is it my silly firefox browser?
