yeah write on yeah write: Arden interviews Sanch

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Around eighteen months ago, Sanch stumbled upon yeah write and began submitting to the grids. She’s been a steady presence ever since, and we’re grateful to have her as part of our community.

Initially, it was the microstories that kept me coming back, but I also love the writing tips available. I do enjoy the creative nonfiction grid. Personal essays are my favourite. I enjoy writing them, but more so, love reading other essays.

I asked Sanch what advice she would give to any yeah write newbies or virgins, but her advice is something all writers can listen to.

Just keep writing and learn to love the constructive criticism. That’s where you learn what’s working and what’s not working. Read the other posts as well. It’s a community where you can learn from one another.

Sanch has been writing for quite a long time.

I remember scribbling poems when I was bored in class around the age of nine. Usually this was in classes like science, history, geography, or math. That was probably the first time I started writing creatively. However, even before that, from the age of four, I liked using my imagination to create stories, and upon starting school, loved writing essays for English on various topics.

As for her blog, her goals align with most. She wants to write regularly and strives to better her craft each and every day.

I would like to write more consistently on my blog. My goal is to better my creative nonfiction writing and also try my hardest with poetry and fiction. My personal blog has a lot of fodder with all my passions in life. I have started and stopped so many things — a contemporary fiction novel, a YA novel, and a picture book. I also want to get into freelance writing and copywriting, but honestly, fear and lack of time have made that impossible at the moment.

I think many of us can relate to that. I sure know I can! When Sanch isn’t writing, you can find her doing any number of things:

I’m a 30-something Aussie who is a child psychologist by day and writer/blogger at every other time. A bibliophile, a word nerd, a lover of pretty notebooks. I also have a great love for the outdoors, red wine, and good food. I am a cat-lady and a mum to two fur-babies, Pebbles and Buttons. I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, spending time at the beach and exercising (I’m not sure if that counts as a hobby but I’m saying it anyway!).

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Thank you Sanch for letting us get to know you a little better here at yeah write. We are so happy to have you in our community! Make sure you follow Sanch’s blog, Sanch Writes. You can also follow her on Facebook and Twitter.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”30085″ alignment=”right”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]Oh, you want more? Well here are five things you never knew about Sanch:

  1. She used to be a total pushover and would agree to everything just to please others, even if it inconvenienced her.
  2. As much as she’s tried not to become like her parents, she finally realized in her late twenties that she’s almost exactly like them. And not just the parts she likes!
  3. She loves the outdoors — which is quite obvious on her blog — but she really loves days when she sits in her pajamas at home, it’s raining outside (she hates wasting sunny days) and she’s with her cats, Netflix and computer.
  4. She wishes she could be more mindful and present and not constantly live in the past or the the future.
  5. She feels like a fake to call herself a writer (I think we all feel like that at times ~Arden).
