Welcome to the fiction and poetry challenge at yeah write

I’ve started listening to the Moth radio hour for writing inspiration. Every Saturday afternoon speakers tell their diverse stories to a studio full of reactive listeners. The stories range from funny (one man shared the best pick-up line ever) to terrifying (Author Ishmael Beah recounted his childhood as a boy soldier). When the hour is up, I find myself smitten. I want to follow every storyteller through their heavens or hells in the hope that they’ll keep talking.

All of this is to say: bring us your best writing and we’ll follow you anywhere.

We’re celebrating the microstory anniversary!

What does this have to do with the fiction|poetry challenge? Well, we’re not announcing the ultimate question until midnight on Wednesday, which means no optional prompt until then. Need some ideas to get the writing started? Check out April’s poetry slam or our new Focus on Fiction feature.
